A TASTE OF PRAISE is new feature film produced by JCFilms Studios that was inspired by the true story of a Christian baker in Colorado who refused to make a cake for a same-sex wedding in 2017.
“For more than eight years now, Jack Phillips has been pulled away from his bakery to fight for his freedom to live according to his faith. He’s a hero and we wanted to share his story in a film,” said Jason Campbell, President of JCFilms Studios.
As you may recall, his case went all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court where the justices ruled in his favor by protecting his faith convictions.
What you may not remember is that the high court ruled in his favor because the state had demonstrated an unconstitutional hostility towards his Christian beliefs. That’s the message JCFilms Studios is hoping to depict in its new controversial film, A TASTE OF PRAISE.
A TASTE OF PRAISE not only tells the story of how Phillips declined to make a custom wedding cake for a gay couple but also shows how his faith decision led to a discrimination lawsuit that threatened his livelihood and shook his family to the core.
The film follows his tremendous journey and concludes with his victory at the U.S. Supreme Court. The filmmakers hope this inspirational story will convict the faithful and stir the lost.
Campbell said, “This film is about an average guy with an average job. But what happened to him could easily happen to any of us; we must all be prepared in defending our faith.”
