Spanish is the second most spoken language in the United States. Last year, the U.S. Hispanic population reached 62.1 million; that’s about 16 percent of the population that speak Spanish as a first language.
Worldwide, there are about 500 million people that speak Spanish as their mother tongue.
However, there are very few original Spanish speaking films and almost zero Spanish speaking faith and family films.
For decades, the Spanish speaking world has relied on Hollywood to produce their stories to only have them dubbed or subtitled into their language. JCFilms Studios, a faith and family film ministry, is now launching Fe’ Film Studios (Fe’ meaning Faith) to help reverse the system.
Already, Fe’ Film Studios is building an impressive creative team to help in creating this first of its kind studio.
Fe’ Film Studios Director, Obed El Arquitecto said, “The reality is that most Spanish speaking families are being forced to watch dubbed movies where the translation is often a distraction. We need our own films.”
Currently Fe’ Film Studios is exploring several movie concepts with the goal of producing ten original and authentic stories of Latino culture next year.
Jason Campbell, President of JCFilms Studios said, “the goal of these new original Spanish speaking faith and family films. Spanish culture offers a world of irresistible flavors, rhythms, and stories. We want to be a part of sharing those stories.”
